Seward – Authorities have seized $2.1 Million worth of marijuana from a traffic stop in Seward County.
On Thursday, Sergeant Mike Vance of the Seward County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a 2016 Nissan cargo van near mile marker 375, four miles west of the Seward exit, on I-80 eastbound.
During the traffic stop Sergeant Vance developed reasonable suspicion that the driver Ricardo Cappucci from Bronx, New York, was involved in criminal activity. After consent, a search was conducted at which time a K-9 gave a positive indication on the van. Vance discovered 470 pounds of Hyrdo marijuana in a false compartment. Also discovered was three pounds of hashish.
The street value of the Hyrdo is approximately $2.1 Million, and $1.4 Million was paid for the drugs in California.
