Best Basketball Shooting School is coming back to West Point-Beemer High School this summer. Cadet Head Boys Coach Cody Bobolz says the camp is for boys and girls grades 4 through 12. “Grades 4-7 are able to come in at 12:30, that’ll run until 1:30. And then grades 8-12 will be 1:30-2:30 June 6th through July 11th. And any area kid is welcome to come.”
Bobolz says there were around 50 kids who attended last year.
The $85 camp will be held on Wednesdays from June 6th through July 11th with the exception of the 4th of July.
Bobolz says the camp includes a T-shirt. “That also includes a Best T-shirt as long as you complete the what he calls homework. So outside of those hour sessions there are a certain number of workouts that kids have to complete. So if they’re able to do that with obviously with the attendance they get a shirt.”
Bobolz says people can register online, pickup forms at the school, and bring the $85 to him. There is no deadline.
Bobolz says instructor BJ Mulder teaches footwork as well as shooting. “There’s just certain things that Best teaches, and it takes time to develop some of those skills. I think BJ does a great job of really implementing those things, and really working with kids step-by-step, and helping them progress as far as their shot. And then working in some of those complex things, especially when it comes to some of the footwork.”
Bobolz says they’re more concerned with shot fundamentals with the younger kids and footwork with the older kids.
