The Veterans and Military Family Emergency Relief Organization and Great Western Bank will be hosting its 10th Annual Warrior Run. This year’s race will be held November 3rd, at the Legacy of the Plains Museum. Registration starts at 9:00 am and will go through 9:45. The 10K will start at 10:00 am, with the 5K starting shortly after. Entry fee is $30 for adults 16 and over, $15 for children ages 9 to 15, and ages 8 and under are free. Early registration deadline is October 26, 2018, which guarantees participants with a shirt. Registrations after the 26th, entry fee for adults will be $40. Children fees will remain the same.

Wolf is also excited to have Webb Orthodontics sponsoring the Little Warrior’s Fun Run.
“We are excited to get the kids out for the event. This is the third year Webb Orthodontics has sponsored the Little Warrior’s Fun Run, and they continue to show why they are such a great asset to the community.”
The Fun Run will be behind the Legacy of the Plains Museum and will be a 1/2 mile race. The race is free to the kids, and Webb Orthodontics has also agreed to supple the shirts for the kids. A daycare option will also be available during the Warrior Run event.
Participants can pick up their race packets on Friday, November 2nd, at the Military and Veterans Affairs office at WNCC. The office is located in the Williams Building. Packets will be available from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Over the past ten years, the VMFERO has helped over 250 veterans and military families with financial assistance to the tune of $150,000! The organization helps with food, gas, electricity, care repairs, rent, medical expenses, and many other basic needs. The also help with higher learning questions, job placement, and has recently held budgeting and money management classes. The organization is strictly volunteer, with over 95 percent of the money raised going to local veterans and military families. All of the money stays in the panhandle of Nebraska and eastern Wyoming.
