Americas Farmers helping panhandle communities

Area farmers are making an impact through the Monsanto Fund's America's Farmers Grow Communities. Through the program farmers can pick the charity of their choice to receive $2,500. Many check presentations were made this week to local FFA chapters, 4-H clubs to fire departments, community centers and schools.

In Box Butte County Kym Ackerman selected the Alliance Volunteer Fire Department, in Cheyenne County Kathryn Beyer selected the Cheyenne County 4-H Council, in Garden County Cameron Miller of Oshkosh chose the Oshkosh Pool, in Goshen County Jean Good of Lingle chose the Goshen County 4-H Foundation Inc., Morrill County farmer Cleve Wiggins of Broadwater chose the Bridgeport FFA Chapter, in Scotts Bluff County Brenda Loose chose the Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department and in Sheridan County Eric Anderson of Gordon chose Post #34 American Legion Baseball

Nationally over 1,200 rural communities and their deserving organizations are reaping the benefits of cash donations.
