Nebraska Methodist College Announces Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree
Nebraska Methodist College has announced their new Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. President and CEO Dr. Dennis Joslin says the program addresses family nurse practice needs.
"I think that one of the things that's really important about the new Doctorate of Nursing Practice Program is it really has an emphasis in family nurse practice, which is a very high need here in our state, and especially in Greater Nebraska, and the rural parts of our state where we know, according to the Demographics, we're having difficulty getting physicians in some of the smaller communities. And this level of advanced nurse practitioner is going to be able to really help meet the healthcare needs throughout Nebraska and the country as far as that matter goes as primary care providers."
The program is being offered online. Dr. Joslin says one of the benefits to that is clinicals can be done locally. Enrollment applications are currently being accepted for the 2014 fall semester.
