Nebraska Hosting Ag Literacy Meetings

Ag literacy will be the focus of a series of meeting across the state. Nebraska Agriculture in the Classroom, Nebraska Farm Bureau and Alliance for the Future of Agriculture is hosting five input sessions to discuss ways to improve ag literacy. Nebraska Ag In the Classroom State Director Deanna Karmazin says this opportunity to brain storm ways to promote ag literacy.

The state-wide initiative aims to get ag literacy efforts off the ground state-wide. Karmazin says this will also be an opportunity to let the public know what resources are available.

Box Butte County Farm Bureau will be providing scholarships to teachers who want to attend the event. Chapter President Mary Crawford says that will provide a nice incentive.

The first Gearing Up for Ag Literacy Meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 17th from 4 - 5:30 MT at the Farm And Ranch Museum in Gering.
