Girl scouts recruiting
Girl Scouts is in the midst of recruitment season.
Girl Scouts Spirit of Nebraska Public Relations Specialist Sandy Nelson says they try and recruit girls in various ways, which includes putting flyers in schools.
"We try to reach out to all the girls who are within the age range, which is pretty much all the girls between Kindergarten and High School. And the way that they do that is different ways. They take the fliers in the schools, and of course we do information in the newspapers, and try to get on the radio. And just get the word out that girl scouts is available for all the girls."

Girl scouts is all about fun and learning.
"It's a great way to meet new friends. To explore new things that they didn't even know that they may be interested in. We have programs ranging everywhere from arts and dance to astronomy and forensics. So we have a wide range of things. Also, as the girls advance through girl scouts they started to gain confidence cause they get to help lead their programs. They get to build character by helping out in the community. And what our goal is as they become adults that they continue these traits."
Girl scouts learn business skills through the cooking program. Scouts also learn how to speak in front of people and how to manage finances.
