Nebraska Beet Growers Meeting Monday

Coming up is the 84th Nebraska Non-Stock Beet Growers Association Annual meeting. The meeting will be held on Monday, February 17th at the Scottsbluff Country Club. The Annual member meeting begins at 2pm. In a interview with KNEB/Rural Radio Network, President Darby Jesperson says the meeting will also include a update on sugar policy and the market outlook.

Growers will also learn about the latest with Western Sugar Cooperative. Jesperson says Western Sugar Coop Chairman Nick Lapasoetes will be at the meeting to give a update.

Members will also vote for three director positions for the 2014 board. There are two positions open for the north region, which includes Box Butte and Sheridan counties and one position in the south region which includes Scotts Bluff, Morrill and Kimball counties.

During the afternoon meeting, a drawing will be held for four $500 scholarships. Jesperson says students can use for the college of their choice.

After the annual meeting there will be a social hour at 5pm, dinner at 6, followed by entertainment at 7pm with comedian Damien Mason who will present "Humor for the Heart of Agriculture".
