Man hospitalized after feedlot accident
A man who was injured while sorting cattle this morning at the Sioux County Feedlot north of Mitchell was taken to Regional West Medical Center.
Mitchell Fire Chief Jon Wurdeman says the unidentified man had severe head injuries after reportedly being run over by a steer. Wurdeman says the man was unconscious, but breathing when Mitchell rescue personnel arrived at the scene, and loaded him for transfer to the hospital. Valley Ambulance personnel met the Mitchell rescue vehicle on the way to the hospital, and assisted with treatment to Scottsbluff.
Mitchell rescue personnel were called to the scene shortly before 10 a.m.
