Administration Opposes FY 2014 Energy Spending Bill
The Office of Management and Budget has released the Statement of Administration Policy on H.R. 2609 - the fiscal year 2014 spending measure for energy and water development. Among other things - the administration believes the bill drastically underfunds critical investments that develop American energy sources to build a clean and secure energy future. If presented with the bill - the President's senior advisors would recommend he veto the bill. According to the Statement of Administration Policy - before considering appropriations bills - Congress should complete an appropriate framework for all the appropriations bills that supports our recovery and enables sufficient investments in education, infrastructure, innovation and national security for our economy to compete in the future. As such - the President's senior advisors would actually recommend he veto any legislation that implements the House Republican Budget framework.
