Nevada truck driver self-reports drug possession to troopers
A Nevada truck driver who reported to the Nebraska State Patrol hotline he found drugs in his trailer has been charged with possession of methamphetamine.
Cheyenne County court documents say troopers found 58 year old John Longshore standing in a traffic lane on I-80 and his vehicle parked in another traffic lane when they responded to the call. Longshore said he moved drugs he found in the engine compartment and moved them under the trailer.
A red shop rag under the truck had meth, marijuana and a meth pipe. Longshore admitted meth use in the past and did not have a solid explanation for why he moved the drugs...which prompted a search of the vehicle and the discovery of more meth and paraphernalia.
