Ruptured Kimball County pipeline repaired
BUSHNELL, Neb. (AP) _ A southwest Nebraska natural gas pipeline is back in operation after rupturing earlier this month.
The Lincoln Journal Star says (http://bit.ly/WO275R) the rupture was reported on May 4 about seven miles north of the village of Bushnell in Kimball County.
No injuries have been reported.
Attorney George Rider for pipeline owner Tallgrass Energy Partners of Lakewood, Colo., tsays reports of an explosion are false. He says the rupture in the 20-inch pipeline was reported by a resident in the rural area.
Reports filed with the Nebraska Public Service Commission say the damaged pipeline section was repaired and Tallgrass received approval from federal regulators to put the pipeline back into service at a reduced operating pressure. Service was partially restored on Friday.
