Finance to Consider USTR Nomination This Week
The Senate Finance Committee has scheduled a hearing on President Obama's nomination of Michael Froman for U.S. Trade Representative. The hearing to consider the nomination is slated for Thursday at 10 o'clock Eastern time. Froman is the Deputy Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Adviser for International Affairs. He also Chairs the Major Economics Forum on Energy and Climate, Co-Chairs the Transatlantic Economic Council and plays an active role in the G-20 and G-8 summits.
During the Clinton Administration - Froman served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Eurasia and the Middle East and as Director for International Economic Affairs at the National Security Council and National Economic Council.
