Huelskamp Fighting for Beef Exports

Washington, DC- Currently Japan is in bilateral talks with Australia over a free trade agreement, with beef as a key component of the discussions. In an interview with TV Tokyo that aired today, Congressman Tim Huelskamp (KS-01) discussed the importance of increasing access to Japan's market for Kansas and all American beef - highlighting its safety, affordability, and high quality for Japanese consumers. He also spoke about making sure a level playing field exists for American beef exports as part of ongoing international trade talks within the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations.

"It is critical in today's growing global markets that U.S. agriculture is recognized as a top prospect for export growth. As an ambassador for Kansas beef, I am committed to making certain that agriculture is not overlooked as this Administration negotiates the Trans-Pacific Partnership," commented Rep. Huelskamp.
