National Experts To Speak At Pipeline Safety Briefings Next Week

Nebraskans for Jobs and Energy Independence, a non-partisan, non-profit organization supported by over 30,000 Nebraskans, is hosting pipeline safety briefings next week in Norfolk and Grand Island.

The Norfolk briefing will be held Monday, May 19, from 12noon to 2:00pm at the Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce at 609 West Norfolk Avenue.

The Grand Island briefing will be held Tuesday, May 20, from 11:30am to 1:00pm at the Bosselman Conference Center at the State Fair Grounds, 700 East Stolley Park Road.

Invitations have been extended to local elected officials, emergency managers, first responders and other invited guests.

Confirmed panelists include:



- Brigham McCown, former Administrator, U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Material Safety Administration;

- Andrew Black, President and CEO, Association of Oil Pipelines;

- Michael Whatley, Executive Vice President, Consumer Energy Alliance; and,

- Dr. J. Berton Fisher, board certified hydrogeologist and expert on matters related to organic and inorganic geochemistry.
