Two Finalists Picked For WPB Interim Superintendent

The West Point Beemer school board held a special meeting Sunday night to review candidates for the position of interim superintendent.

After meeting in closed session, the board named Gary Cooper and Terry Kenealy as finalists.

Cooper has consulted for the school district in the past on construction projects. He's served in the past as both a principal and associate superintendent in Grand Island before retiring in 2005. He was an interim Middle School Principal in Waverly in 2012.

Kenealy served as a principal for a number of years and as superintendent in York from 2000 to 2009. He's also served as a shared superintendent in Iowa. The West Point Beemer school board will interview both candidates Thursday night starting at 6 p.m.
