Hooper and the Huskers shooting for 7th in a row

The No. 17 Nebraska women's basketball team shoots for its seventh consecutive win when the Huskers take on Ohio State in Columbus on Thursday.

Tip-off between the Huskers (19-5, 9-3 Big Ten) and Buckeyes (14-14, 4-8 Big Ten) is set for 6 p.m. (CT) at Value City Arena.

The Huskers are coming off their sixth straight win with a 76-51 victory over Indiana in Lincoln Sunday. Two-time All-American and first-team All-Big Ten pick Jordan Hooper produced another monster game for the Big Red with 31 points and a season-high six three-pointers. The 6-2 senior forward from Alliance, Neb., scored 10 points in the final 12 minutes as NU outscored the Hoosiers 28-11 down the stretch.

Hooper, who is a Senior Class Award finalist, set the Nebraska career three-point record with her fourth three against Indiana. She heads to Ohio State with 270 in her career and her next three will push her past former Buckeye Caity Matter (2001-05) into fifth on the all-time list.

Hooper, who celebrates her 22nd birthday on Thursday, ranks No. 2 on Nebraska's career lists in points (2,165) and rebounds (1,035). She needs 17 points to catch former Purdue great Stephanie White (2,182, 1996-99) at No. 11 on the Big Ten career scoring list. Hooper needs eight rebounds to catch Karisma Penn (1,043, 2010-13) from Illinois at No. 10 on the conference career rebound chart.

Nebraska has opened February with five straight wins, stretching its February winning streak to 13 games. NU's last February loss came at Michigan State on Feb. 23, 2012. Nebraska is 15-4 overall, including 7-2 at home and 8-2 on the road in February as a member of the Big Ten.
