Hefty Seed Holds Open House in West Point

Hefty Seed Company is holding an open house at its West Point facility Thursday. Manager Jacob Gubbels says it's a chance to let the public come out and see what the new building south of town is.

"Show everyone our containment, our bulk setup, our warehouse and our offices and showing people really what Hefty is about," Gubbels said.

"This whole thing is just basically to help farmers. And produce quality information - Hefty does a lot of its own research - we want to maintain quality in everything we do, on the chemical side especially. That's why you see us put so much time and effort into our bulk facility, our warehouse."

"You know, with Hefty, what you buy is what you're getting. The products are coming straight from the best sources. You're working with all the reps. We're here to offer the value price with the best product for the farmer."

Gubbels says with the climate controlled facility, none of the chemicals ever get past 45 degrees.
