West Point Public Schools Picks Gary Cooper As Interim Superintendent

The West Point-Beemer Public Schools board Thursdsay night interviewed the two finalists for interim superintendent.

It then offered a contract for the 2014-15 school year to Gary Cooper, who accepted it.

Cooper is a former principal and associate superintendent in Grand Island, where he retired in 2005. He was an interim middle school Principal in Waverly in 2012. Cooper has worked with the school district as a consultant on construction projects, including the elementary school project a few years ago.

The other finalist was Terry Kenealy, who served as a principal for a number of years, including in Pender. He also spent nine years as a superintendent at York.
