3 Arrested In Connection With Omaha Girl's Death

According to the Omaha World Herald, Omaha police on Thursday arrested three men on suspicion of theft in connection with the investigation of a 5-year-old girl's killing.

The paper reports that the three were booked on suspicion of theft by receiving in connection with a stolen Jeep believed to be involved in a gun battle near 44th Avenue and Emmet Street on Wednesday.

Payton Benson, who was inside her home, was struck by a stray bullet and died of her injuries.

Police detectives were attempting to interview Jaylen Montgomery, 18, Adonus Moses, 22, and Vincent Hicks, 20, about the death of Payton.

They are being held in the Douglas County Jail
