Heineman Plans To Appoint Interim Labor Commissioner
With this week's resignation by Nebraska Labor Commissioner Catherine Lang, who also serves as Executive Director for Nebraska Economic Development, 840 KTIC asked Governor Dave Heineman this morning on his biweekly call to the station what his plans are for replacing Lang.
"You know, with about six-and-a-half months to go, we're looking at appointing an interim or an acting director and then a new governor will come in and he will need to make a decision who he wnats to head up these two agencies," Heineman said.
" But we want to continue to move forward. We're going to continue to focus on jobs. That's the key to keep Nebraska growing and moving forward."
When will he make his decision?
"Well certainly, by the end of June. Cathy's last day I think is like June 27th or whatever, so toward the end of June if not sooner we'll make an announcement of where we want to head there.
