Abigail Olson of Sargent, in the Junior Division and Charmayne Popp of Broken Bow, in the Senior Division will be Nebraska’s delegates to the National Finals of the “Make It With Wool” contest. They were chosen November 19 by judges at the State Contest conducted by State Director Alice Doane of Waverly. Contestants attended the state contest in Lexington at the Dawson County Extension Office.
The national contest is scheduled for January 26-28, 2017 in Denver, Colorado.
Second place in the Junior Division was Arlene Soria of Kearney, who received a Bernina sewing machine. Another contestant earning honors was third place winner Camille Anderson, Lexington. Other junior participants were Anne Bennier, Unadilla; and Leah Treffer, Cozad.
Second place in the Senior Division was Morgan Fangmeier of Hebron, who received a Baby Lock sewing machine.
In the Pre-Teen Division, the first place winner was Amaya Stewart of Lexington who received a sewing basket with sewing notions. Second place winner was Greg Treffer, Cozad; third place, Sarah Treffer, Cozad; fourth place, Jacob Warm, Staplehurst; fifth place, Abbie Owens, Lexington; sixth place, Karla Herrarte, Lexington; and seventh place, Keith Allen, Jr., Lexington; eighth place, Ariel Rhea, Lexington; ninth place, Taylar Probasco, Lexington; and tenth place, Saidi Ringenberg, Lexington. Other pre-teen contestants were Abby Allen, Lexington; Elijah Bolin, Eagle; Jocelyn Cabellos, Lexington; Alanna Fangmeier, Hebron; Malinda Lo, Lexington; Emma Olson, Sargent; Katie Olson, Sargent; Bethany Pelton, Bertrand; AnnaLiese Reha, Hampton; Sydni Ringenberg, Lexington; Daniela Solis, Lexington; Delilah Solis, Lexington; Jenason Spady, Lewellen; Greg Treffer, Cozad; and Anna Grace Warm, Staplehurst.
In the Adult Division, the first place winner was Merna Hanson, Juniata. Second place winner was Kelsey Patton, Stromsburg.
