(NEW YORK) — Actor Earle Hyman, best remember for playing Grandpa Huxtable on The Cosby Show, has died at 91, The New York Times reports.

Hyman played Russell Huxtable, father of Bill Cosby’s Dr. Cliff Huxtable, on 40 episodes of the sitcom in the 1980s and early 1990s.
